Ladysmith Park

Nickie Soltis (Robin’s sister) and her family have chosen to give $5,000 to a park in Ladysmith that will soon be the first-of-its-kind in the area. This park will be handicapped-accessible, will be rubberized and safe for wheelchairs and other disabilities, and will be fun for any child of any age. The park will include a skate park and restroom facilities. It is located at the community center at the former elementary school where Nickie, Adam, and two of their three children went to school.

Nickie was actually a part of raising money for the former playground while on the Student Council, so being able to help with these improvements once again has come full circle for her. It also means a lot to her as the mother of an energetic 6-year-old child who would love a park like this as a new way to get outside and play!

The $5,000 will go towards being a Gold level sponsor to this park and help to get this park up and running in a community that needs something safe, fun, and inclusive for all of the area’s children. Nickie, her two daughters Kamdyn and Trinity, and Robin recently presented a check to Mayor Robert Grotzinger, City Administrator Alan Christianson, and the City Parks Board at the site of the future playground. This project is very close to becoming a reality thanks to the hard work of many amazing people at the City of Ladysmith.
